Mets??
CitizenSnips
I would hope not. They don’t need another mediocre hitter in their lineup.
mauryfeldman
They don’t need another player who’s OK but not quite good enough to be a starting SS. I could see him going to Philly.
willi
Go get him Mets , 1/3rd player David wright is !
MB923
With Wright’s injury, it sadly is more like 3x, not 1/3
Pei Kang
ugh, no, Callapso is much worse than Eric Campbell.
jury_rigger
He’s not worth the roster spot to anyone
citizen 2
I bet it’s giants since McGhee was released and Chris Johnson is about to be activated
Paul Michaels
Yea I don’t think so. Duffy is a way better hitter than he is so what’s the point in downgrading at 3rd?
yetipro
Alberto Callaspo should retire, as a Braves fan I’m pretty happy that we might be able to get something for him.
Sleeper
I’m gonna pull a reverse Price, and ask how it benefits them to divulge that information(and I don’t mean it in a mocking way, I’m genuinely curious). Unless a deal is all but finalized, it seems extremely strange to come out and say this.
Jeff Todd
Steve Adams and I were just chatting and this is all we can figure. Certainly not how news of this kind usually comes out.
Jervass
They could be releasing this to suggest the scratch was not due to injury or, given a Dave O’Brien tweet earlier, a disciplinary issue. IMO.
Sleeper
If that were the case, I would figure they could have just said it was a healthy scratch and there were no disciplinary reasons for it/it was just a day off. Just a very odd situation to show your cards like that
Jervass
Agree.
Wayne Canon
we have an extremely strange manager….and not in a good way.
Brixton G.
Hes performing at a level in which it makes any suitors unpredictable. Is he really an upgrade to any MLB team? Probably for cash considerations to a team in desperate need of a 2B.
willi
Yankees go for Him!
Sleeper
Please no. They’ve already got enough problems with offense at 2nd,I don’t know that he’d be a real upgrade over the Drew/Pirela combination, and they’ll be facing roster crunches soon with returns from injuries as it is.
willi
Get Chase from the Phillies , he’s way better than anything the Yankees have. His Average is Not indicative of his worth, he’s had horrible Bad Luck with the Rubes Voodoo on Team !
MB923
I believe he has stated numerous times that he doesn’t want to leave Philly
David Coonce
He’s probably better than Casey Mcgehee, but I don’t really see the Giants going after Callaspo.
Adenhart
It’s probably a team from the AL that would take the risk. Considering Callaspo has had his best years with an AL Team
kungfucampby
Please reunite him with his best friend Erick Aybar.
alex navarrette
Please don’t.
Leigh Heinrichs
He was held out of today’s lineup because of a pending trade? Don’t players who signed in the most recent offseason have to wait until June 15 to be traded?
Karkat
Players can be traded before that with their permission
Leigh Heinrichs
Ah ok. Thanks.
Ryan Cothran
Giants have a 3b need, and Jeremy Affeldt it performing poorly on a 6 million dollar contract. Your junk for my junk trade?
MB923
Wow. To the Dodgers for Juan Uribe????
BlueSkyLA
Seems like such an unlikely add to the Dodgers’ roster unless the real attraction is some viable prospects (and a quick DFA for Callaspo). Then again Friedman & Co. do seem to have a thing for switch-hitters.
