when will the dodgers designate chris hatcher?? man is horrible… and he isn’t getting any better

I agree with this. I think it’s time to give Lee his shot to pitch as well.
Cam
Either they are trying to shield him from a rough start in the Majors, so he keeps his value as a trade-deadline chip..or he’s completely out of favor with the front office for unknown reasons. They’ve missed the boat on a few opportunities to bring him up.
Maybe the new brains trust don’t like the fact he’s a Colletti/McCourt holdover.
Hence the Wieland/Baker/Use the Bullpen for 9 Innings against the Rockies starting with a Rockies castoff/Anyone but Lee philosophy.

If the real motive for not promoting Lee at this point is he’s a product of the old guard, then the new guard has a lot of work to do in ridding the team of the likes of Gonzalez, Puig, Grienke, Guerrero, Pederson, Ethier, and Kershaw, among others. Or it could be after a terrible 2014 they still are not sure about Lee’s readiness.
Brian Lynch
Lee pitched Friday so he may have been unavailable today. I agree that it’s time. 2.38 ERA in the PCL is amazing.

For the PCL league that’s legit, keep in mind it’s more of a hitters league. I’m hoping the Dodgers finally bring Lee up and give him the chance. Everyone’s talking about going after Holmes but to be honest I’m guessing it’ll cost the Dodgers a lot less to go after Cueto instead. with him being a free agent at seasons end.

Mattingly is from the Torre school of thought – gotta have one guy you can throw out there regardless of how bad he’s pitching.
The key, is to tell the media you’re going to put him in low leverage situations – then go and do the opposite. Just because.
Torre had Scott Proctor towards the end. Mattingly came along and had Ronald Belisario, then Brian Wilson. This year, it’s Hatcher.
There’s no real logic to it. It just is.

i sure hope Mike Scioscia opts out of his deal and donny gets fired… bring back mike!!!!
TN
you don’t want Mike Scioscia, I’ve never seen a more overrated coach. This is the guy that kept trotting Jeff “Mendoza Line” Mathis out there instead of Napoli. A guy who got rid of Trumbo and plays favorites. I do agree Hatcher is pretty terrible.

Catcher to catcher, I’m sure it looked very different to Scioscia than it did to you.
Scioscia has a little of that “he plays the game the right way” mindset, which is usually a problem. But he knows a million times more about catching than I do, so it’s hard to judge him.

I know its just spring training, but Ravin looked great during the spring. I wasn’t expecting him to win a spot, but I must admit I was a bit surprised his name wasn’t even discussed when considering roster spots. Glad to see him get his shot, hopefully he takes advantage

ravin at the ravine… has a nice ring to it, huh?
Brian Lynch
Hmmm…Huff was about the only guy who did well in game 1. Hatcher needs to go. Let him try to get straightened out in OKC or just release him.
TN
Yep never want anyone to lose their job but Hatcher is downright terrible. He’s either walking hitters or serving up meatballs. The guy needs to go. He’s gotten enough chances. He’s worse than Santos who I believe the Dodgers DFA’d a few days ago.
Brian Lynch
Yep, he comes in and pours gasoline on the fire.

The Dodgers are showing up a lot more often on MLB Trade Rumors since Friedman & co. took over…
