No one listed there is even close to replacing Holliday. Even though the power is trending down, he’s still a very good hitter. A lengthy absence would be a huge blow.

ive always said matt holliday is what every team needs to win. A guy who can hit good pitching and not just # 3 4 5 guys in the rotation.

Give me a hitter any day of the week. Give me guys that know how to make contact and know how to handle a bat. I would much rather have a guy who has 25-30 HR power, a 17% K rate and a .280 +/- BA than a guy who hits 45 HR, K’s 30% of the time and hits .245.

hmmm….. maybe 20HR these days.

Yea… I probably should’ve said .230…lol. I was thinking guys like Dunn and Reynolds (when he was a FT player). Guys with hollow stats drive me crazy

Probably nearing a time that Holiday should become a 1B. Tremendous professional hitter….goes where the pitch is and drives it.

Morrow being Morrow again.

Ben Zobrist of the Athletics is also available w/ pitcher Kazmir as they are definite sellers. What are the A’s looking in return from the Cardinals?
