lucroy for sale. or just build around lucroy, braun and gomez.
stl_cards16
Lucroy and Gomez are each free agents after next season. Not sure the Brewers can get things turned around by then. So it’s either pay big bucks to extend them, or trade them for pieces to help with the rebuild.

Lucroy is signed thru 2017
Vandals Took The Handles
He is signed through 2016, but the Brewers have a team option through 2017.

At 5 mil… automatic barring death basically. Thats what some backups are making

Corrected. But same point, the Brewers aren’t likely to compete in the next 2 years.

Why would the Tigers give up a package of young talent for Lucroy? In his first full season, James McCann is slashing .278 / .313 / .407. He’s 24 years-old, improving behind the plate, and under control through 2021. In fact, McCann has quietly been one of the surprise young consistent performers in MLB during the 2015 season.
The Tigers badly need at least one one more quality starting pitcher – probably two. They don’t need a catcher.

Lucroy through ’17–he’s a keeper. Who would the Tigers part with for him?
JMcCann like Swihart and Vas from the RSox haven’t developed the art of catching that Lucroy has.
