The Pittsburgh article just attacked the entire farm system. They are definitely disappointing, but there is so much talent there that I still think it’s in the top 5-8 farm systems.

It’s still a very solid system. Either an extreme oversight on the writers behalf, or proof of his lack of knowledge was saying Josh Bell has no value because he doesn’t have enough power to be a 1B. Well, with any other organization Bell is still an OF. He would still be valued highly on the trade market as an OF.

The Pittsburgh article is laughable. A lot of our hitters have lacked power this year but they are teaching approach, Guys like Meadows McGuire and Bell are focusing on driving the balls to all fields, rust me the power will be there. Bell is going to be a 20+ Hr guy So many people overrate power. If you watch the current Pirate team you’ll see what power can do to hitters who have shown it. It leads to a lot of strikeouts and rolled over ground balls. The Pirates are developing their hitters to be more contact oriented. The Pirates system has a TON of talent in it
