Vandals Took The Handles
The top 3 teams in the NLC are so good and so full of quality young players, that the Reds and Brewers would do well to write off at least the next few seasons. They should both blow it up and trade every decent veteran for prospects over the next year or two – give them time to develop. Short of major injuries to multiple impact players on the Cardinals, Cubs and Pirates, those teams are going to stay strong as their farm systems hold quality prospects. This year the Cardinals lost their ace, their clean-up hitter, and their power-hitting #3 hitter – they have the best record in MLB. This is going to prove to be an historically strong division that will be talked about for years after it peaks.

Someone was cutting onions in the room when I read that Baez article. That is a great read there.
