Minimum 4 years and 9 mil per.

He’ll get 4/44, but if I was a GM of a playoff or close to it and needed a LF that can bat 2nd when hot, but really love him at 7th I would try for 3/33-39

Parra’s WAR is not looking pretty for someone who’s likely to get a 3-4 year deal
with a 10+ AAV. He’s lucky that the outfield market looks terrible and that he can’t get a QO.

I guess it’s luck, but that’s what it is lol I think everyone will agree he will get 3-4 10+ each year min.

I certainly wouldn’t touch him at whatever price I’m sure he’ll command. This is his second season (the first of which occurred four years ago) with a good wRC+/OPS+ and his only truly good overall season was bolstered by anomalously high defensive numbers, which have since fallen off a cliff. He has ‘1-2 WAR player’ written all over him. He’s good as a starter for a non-contending team or as a platoon player on a contender.

“The outfield market looks terrible.”
Last years top two available outfielders were a shortstop and a DH. Last year’s contracts were (roughly, without looking them up):
Ramirez 4/88
Cruz 4/56
Cabrera 3/42
Markakis 4/44
Cuddyer 2/21
Rios 1/11
Rasmus 1/8
Aoki 1/5
So roughly $275m worth of outfielders (say $300m-$350m, in case I missed a bunch of guys.)
This years crop will very roughly look like:
Heyward 10/200
Upton 8/175
Cespides 7/130
Gordon 5/110
Span 4/55
Fowler 3/40
Rasmus 2/25
Jackson 1/8
Victorino 1/5
Byrd 1/5
So like $750m worth of outfielders available. And they’re all actual outfielders. Even if I well overshot a few of those it’s still more than twice as strong a market as last year. So I don’t really get the weak market comment.
And with the outfield market being so strong and Parra having such a scant track record of quality performance, I see something between what Aoki got last year and something like 3/$25m on the the high end.

Liked him for years and still do. A fine team ballplayer.
I started to write out where he could go, but it’s up in the air. He doesn’t seem to be the sort of player that a team will make a long-term commitment to. He’ll get a decent multi-year contract of course, but odds are that he’ll continue to move around during the season for the next few years as contending teams that have injuries or disappointments take him on as the Orioles did this year. I can see him resigning with Baltimore for 3-4 years – might even be moved at the 2016 deadline if they’re not in contention.
