Off-the-wall suggestion that won’t happen: Flip Strasburg in his last year to the Jays for Devin Travis to play 2B. Nats gain young talent (offensively and defensively) that’s controllable, Jays get a pitcher to help replace Price for one more year before they probably have to retool anyway.

You’re right, that trade won’t ever happen. Why on Earth would the Jays want to trade Travis for Strasburg? While they’re at it, maybe the Phillies can get Pompey for Ryan Howard. C’mon bro, use your head. The Jay’s don’t have the minor league depth to trade for another ace, and they can’t afford to take the hit to the MLB team by trading someone like Travis. I feel their only real option lies in free agency at this point, and with a deep starting pitching free agent market, that’s the route you’re most likely to see them take.
