I’d love to see Boston sign Iwakuma, but like every story this season has gone.. it’s a given pretty much he resigns with Seattle.
My feeling is even if he ends up costing Seattle 3/45m, odds are his final cost per what he will produce over that time will eclipse any deal that Price/Cueto/Zimmerman, or maybe any other FA sp who ends up signing a LT deal this off season, except for maybe one Boras client of all the oddities.. Wei Yen Chen of Baltimore, who has been over looked his entire career and don’t think Boras can help him this off season with his pompous self. Chen is what he is.. An AL proven version of Kyle Lohse that Lohse never was, making him the crafty lefty a cpl of teams might be willing to go 3 guaranteed years on, but not for big dollars. Maybe 40-45m tops.

I really cant see Iwakuma being a fit in Boston especially considering how deep the market is

I’ve thought for a while Trumbo might be a fit in Boston. He’s pretty versatile @ 1B, 3B and LF. Castillo is athletic and a very good defender with a strong accurate arm.
Castillo is owed some money but I think something could be worked out.
Furbush has always been a guy I would like to see the Sox go after. He’s from Maine–perhaps a 1 for 1 for Tazawa.

Still think Taz has value, even after he had issues late in the summer, probably from being over used the last 3 seasons.
Not that wouldn’t like to see Furbush in Boston, though his innings and numbers aren’t as quality as one thinks at 1st glance. He kind of gets kicked back in the M’s pen pretty often when healthy and don’t think his value as a reliever is all that high. Kind of like last off season when Sox fans got Anthony Varvaro from Atlanta.. His glittering numbers all came during blow outs.. You know.. Furbush would come in often for 1 batter, or the team way up-way down the last couple of years.
Myself? I still have hopes the Sox still sign Taz to a 2-3y deal early next year after he shows nothing is wrong with his arm. He’s been vital.
