Baseball reference, Cots and spotrac have the buyout on the 2016 option listed as 2 MM not 1 MM

Thanks. It went up by $1MM with the trade but I had the old terms stuck in my head. (And no, I do not know why I had Jon Broxton’s old contractual terms committed to memory.)

The same reason I have the amount of deferred money in Ryan Braun’s contract committed to memory.
We’re freaks.

What is Moss’ situation? Will he be a Cardinal next year?

He’s eligible for arbitration

I read in the STL Post-Dispatch that Moss would be with the team next year. I think that the Cards want insurance on Matt Adams, who hasn’t lived up to expectations to this point.

Ok, but doesn’t it make more sense to resign Mark Reynolds? Adams is a lefty, Reynolds a righty. So they platoon, and Reynolds didnt have great numbers, but better than Moss.

Piscotty looks in the fight for first also.

Moss is eligible for arbitration
With the suspension of Cody Stanley I think this leaves the cards with 2 catchers on the 40 man
