Buddy “Bud” Hull
Quick typo in the Mariners paragraph, they’re referred to as the Sox. However maybe Dipoto does know that…
Steve Adams
Ha, thanks. Shouldn’t have been trying to read something while also typing that up. Appreciate the note.

I would love Dipoto to kick the tires on Chapman but I can’t see Seattle offering anything that makes sense for both parties.
mariners51
I think we could offer James Paxton and Stefen Romero and Luis gohara and get it done
davbee
The Reds would want more–Romero has almost zero trade value and Gohara hasn’t been all that impressive. But if I’m the Mariners I don’t trade a starter with upside and control (Paxton) for any reliever.
kingfelix34
Chapman is different, he is the only player in the league throwing 104
Chuxin
Dipoto isn’t on the sox anymore.
Steve Adams
How did no one tell me this?! I kid. Thanks for the heads up. Brain malfunction.
CTBrowns
I wonder if Chapman winds up with the Cubs. Yeah, you have division rivalry considerations to think of. But the Cubs could then focus on the non-Price/Cueto portion of the starting pitcher market having substantially shortened the game – Rondon setting up A-Rold is downright terrifying.
Chuxin
Love your work!!

Madson also has a connection with Detroit. He pitched for Detroit’s new pitching coach when at Philly.

For whatever it’s worth, Heyman tweeted yesterday that the Mets are also interested in Soria. I say that first part because he added ‘and many other relievers’.

Would love to see the Rays match up with the Astros on a deal for Gattis. Astros don’t need Carter and Gattis. McGee for Gattis would give the Rays some salary relief too. Loney could even be a fit there since the Astros need a left handed bat and Singleton has done absolutely nothing at 1B.

Hoping Avila wastes little time in upgrading the bullpen. Can quibble some about the names being bantered about, but our bullpen was such a dumpster fire that any of the names mentioned would be an upgrade.
Bill Couch
Hunter is not an upgrade
