Hope Tigers can keep him! Not hopeful though. 26 year old lefties that have starting experience do not grow on trees.

His lack of fast ball limits his upside tremendously. However, loved the way he battled on the mound. Would be nice if they can keep him for depth in the minors, but that’s all he will ever be in Detroit. Might be best for him, elsewhere.

Lobstein be a nice addition to Cincinnati’s bullpen. I’ll be very surprised if he passes through waivers. I”d even expect some team to work out a trade for him.

I was surprised the waived Lobstein instead of someone like Farmer, but looking at their 40 man their stable of young LHP suddenly looks much better than their RHP counterparts. Assuming Norris starts, you still have Boyd, Labourt, Justin Wilson, Blain Hardy, and Kyle Ryan. Ryan is 3 yrs. younger with an extra year of control. The RHP side has Alex Wilson, Verhagan, Fulmer, and all the question marks from last year (Greene, Nesbitt, etc.). If you have to waive a pitcher for a position player, Lobstein makes sense. It would be nice if he makes it thur waivers.

Lobstein’s shown little, and Farmer’s shown less. Management seems to love Farmer, and I can’t understand why. I really was hoping that Fulmer would get a shot this spring, but Avila inexplicably threw $ away on Pelfrey. I’ve been a Tigers
