Any of the three other responses seems like a perfectly possible outcome to me.

Everytime see Reds GM Dick Williams here, think it’s HOF manager Dick Wiliams, or reminds me of him. One of the best of the last 50y who would win at any cost and as hard nosed as Earl Weaver, or Billy Martin ever was.
The guy ran the club house like a boot camp and only knew how to win. IOW? The type who couldn’t exist with many of the baby-fied players and people of today.

Why the hell they’re practicing a gold glove outfielder at first base to aquire an avg outfielder, it doesn’t make sense. The Rockies have great offense and defense they should be focusing on pitching.

He’s 30 years old and has dealt with (admittedly minor) knee injuries in each of the past two seasons. There’s no real harm in looking forward to ways in which they can fit Dahl onto the roster, and adding some defensive versatility could also make Gonzalez a bit more appealing in terms of trade value should they look to move him this summer or next winter.
Stuart Brown
Gonzalez has also been exceptionally spotty defensively over his career. In three of the last four seasons he’s been below average to significantly below average defensively. The other season he was slightly above average. He may have won three Gold Gloves, but he likely won them with his offense, not his defense.
