I don’t really see the point of bringing Arroyo back unless it’s just for him to finish his career as a Red, and help out some of the younger staff. I guess he has some value in that role, if it’s only a few million dollars.

A deal could still probably happen if Reds are willing to pay some or most of Bruce’s salary.

after last year’s horrendous season, they’re probably hoping he can regain some value before he’s traded.
greatd
kinda risky considering the fact that he could totally collapse but I do agree with you that that could be their scenario.

Arroyo could be a nice bounce back candidate

The White Sox could use a right arm ground ball pitcher like Arroyo

If the Reds are going to totally destroy this team, then Bruce has to go. Hopefully, they can get something decent for him. I’ll be 49 in less than two months, and I’ve been through the BRM era,the awful early 80s,and the drought from 1995-2010. I’m barely hanging on. If I switch,it’ll be the Cubs. This is so,so sad. They were so,so close to getting to the World Series in 2012. It’s pretty much collapsed since then. They had a pretty good team in paper, but just could never quite do it. Never hit in the clutch, despite the likes of Bruce,Frazier,Votto, and Phillips. Yeah,at least two of them could. One who never did was Bruce. Swung at bad lurches. Would slump(or get hot, occasionally) for weeks on end. JV is an intense player who never gives in at the plate. DatDude is the same, but also loves to have fun and has a flair, especially on defense. What could have been. What could have been. Sadly, like the Buckeyes this season,we’ll never know.

I’m a Reds fan, only a few years younger than you (45). This is really the first time the team has faced a full rebuild since those early 80s teams. The mid-90s were decent-not-great out of loyalty to Larkin, the mid-00s were the same because of Griffey. Keep the faith!
