This is literally musical chairs.

But without the music.

Or the chairs.
BlueSkyLA
Zen musical chairs.

.287/.360/426 isn’t bad

I was thinking the same thing. specially for a 23 year old.
thecoffinnail
You mean for a 27 year old.

Yep. Read the wrong stat line, but I was referring to Torryes. Looks like a great pick up for the yanks. Not sure why he’s been bouncing around so much.

I know, as a yankee fan, I”m going to be thrilled. I just need time to assimilate the news.

Come on, cut it out with these struggle trades, lets see a banger already!
BlueSkyLA
Funny but in both of today’s minor trades, you’d think from the articles that the Dodgers were barely involved and didn’t get anybody back in the trades who they can use somewhere.

Segedin showed good pop at Tulane, but had some back problems that might have sapped some of his power.

Thanks. What I noticed is that the trades were reported almost entirely as Yankees and Mariners stories. A lot more information was provided on the players these teams received and how they might be used by them, than who the Dodgers got back and how they might meet any Dodgers needs.

What a let down, I thought it was Miller for Deleon and Montas.

Blockbuster…. LMAO!

Yanks need to keep up these baby moves until the rest of the old dudes retire. Then I can stop yapping to everyone about Bryce Harper’s destined future in pinstripes.

I think the Yankees are finally figuring it out that defense is very important. Cleaning out minors that can’t field.

I’m going to be honest, I think the AL East is all Toronto and Boston this year (with one capturing a wild card) barring a massive Orioles slew of moves. With that said, I think this trade will impact the season next year.
Regarding Olson, the kid is a young lefty starter. The rotation is a weakness of this Yankees team. Despite the fact that Severino is a lock for the future, Eovaldi, Pineda and Tanaka could be looked at as potential trade deadline pieces upon falling out of contention with decent first halves (the former 2 because of controllability and affordability and the latter if he shows that he can still be an ace. Also CC is likely to spend some time on the DL at some point, so he will have ample opportunity to show what he has.
Torreyes is coming at a time when Pete Kozma (a guy who St. Louis fans couldn’t wait to get rid of), Juan Diaz and Donovan Solano are the alternatives as shortstop utility guys.and there are no current AAA 3B. While he isn’t immediate help, he could be up at some point. Torreyes, although he doesn’t look it, is also 23 and had a solid showing at AAA last year. He brings a solid glove and an above average arm to the party and has the potential to be a Juan Pierre type guy (meaning he makes frequent contact).
Solid move by the Yankees
