How does Drew keep finding teams? 5 million to be below replacement level on Yankees walks into a 3 million dollar contract. Hes made close to 50 million dollars what is the problem?

Drew won’t admit that he should have taken the qualifying offer.

No. He should have taken the2 year deal that was offered.

Sad state of shortstops. His defense is good enough to look past the lack of offense

Why pay anyone 3m to play fair to decent defense and not hit, like Drew when there are guys.. Like Deven Marrero in Boston with 3 options that will make league minimum, have same bat, same arm and same glove, plus 10y younger?
Drew was lucky he got a guaranteed contract period. some undeserving glove only/no hit journeymen this winter didn’t even get that.

Must be nice to be an MLB player….you forget to add that he started for the NY Yankees for almost a full year as well with those horrible stats. Coaches love him for some reason.

the phillies will spend big in 2018

Drew’s gripes are less convincing because he’s been basically awful. If there’s ever been a prime example of a colossal misjudgment of one’s own talent, it’s Drew and Boras.

He had a great year in 2013 coming back from an injury, especially in the 2nd half (started off slow because he was concussed betting hit in the head with a pitch) and his team won the World Series
mike156
Actually, he had a good year in 2013, not a great one. 3.0 bWAR, after two years of underperformance. He was coming into his age 31 season. I don’t blame him for taking the shot, but the money/years he was looking for was never going to be in the cards for him. Eventually the window closed.

They don’t need to scrap the QO system, they just need to eliminate the penalty for teams who sign a player and keep the compensation pick for the team that loses a player
jd396
The penalty is for the sake of competitive balance, though. With the way finances work it keeps you from stockpiling draft picks AND signing other team’s players away from them.

What are the odd’s Barry Bonds doesn’t last a full year with the Marlins?
