Precipitously, nice word Jeff. Figured Arizona would go with Bourn for what $480k at this point, no reason not to. Hope he can sign on somewhere.

Agree… Strange. Seemingly low/no risk it would just them a roster spot at AAA

I don’t think it has anything to do with the money considering how cheap Arizona could get him since Cleveland and Atlanta are still paying him. I think it merely has to do with the fact of his declining numbers and numerous injuries over the past few years which doesn’t make it worth for Arizona to waste a spot on the 40 man for him.

Always liked Bourn. Sad to see guys fade into mediocrity so quickly. Hope he has something left in the tank. Seems like he’s worth a look at the league minimum.

The cat used to be such a burner. Maybe he finds new life someplace else.

He’s not. I understand Peter O’Brien’s defense isn’t very good, but his bat might be worth the upgrade. Bourn’s defense isn’t good at this point, and O’Brien definitely beats him in that aspect.

Ive always wondered about this: if he signs elsewhere, who gets the salary relief? I’m guessing it’s Atlanta, the team he was most recently with, but maybe it’s split between Atlanta & Cleveland.

He’s still getting his 14 million or whatever, which I think is mostly being paid by Cleveland, so I’m guessing Cleveland gets the relief.

I hope this does not happen, he is no better than what they have on their roster right now who are younger and have a higher up side.
Lance
he’s gotta go back to the minors, maybe an independent league to show he has something left in the tank.
