Urrutia has never shown the ability to pull the ball with any authority, and he’s too slow to be strictly an opposite field hitter. His defense is average at best, He’s not in the mix for a spot in Baltimore, so he’d be better off in another organization. I don’t think at this point that he has any trade value on his own, so he would have to be a piece in a larger trade.

Yankees have to start winning on the road a lot more to be a playoff caliber team. Yes they won last night in Arizona but they still lost the series
I think they should keep Nova in the rotation and put Severino back in AAA when he returns where he can hopefully fix his mechanics
Their biggest pitching concern, as Hal mentioned, is Pineda. He gets ahead of every batter and gets counts to 0-2 and 1-2, but then somehow his next slider ends up in the middle of the plate.

I completely forgot to mention the offense which of course has been a problem all year, though it was more disastrous at the beginning of the year, particularly in April when they finished dead last in runs scored. in May, they are 17th which isn’t very good, but it’s very good compared to April.

Freeman and Julio to Yankees. Haha just want to stir it up.

I’ve heard a lot of Julio to the Yankees rumors. Though that’s started by the fans. No reports of it. But I expect steelersbravenation here to come up with a proposal

Haha last line is what I was shooting for. I am a huge Braves fan and big trade proposal guy as well, so this is fun.

He should give up on this rumor already man…..we (the (Yankees) don’t want the kid, he’s not a game changer and looks pretty average to date.

Braves fans keep posting about trading this kid Julio Teheran,to anybody that will listen, but if he’s this good why would they not want to build around him…..
Sounds to me like they are trying to fleece somebody…..but it won’t be the YANKEES!!!!

I am a Braves fan. At times he is a above average pitcher. In most rotations, and I mean good rotations he is a 4th or 5th. In average rotations he could be a 3. Problem is in Atlanta he had been the only thing relative to an Ace as we have had. The thing that cracks me up, he could be good for the Yankees; young, cheap, controllable, and decent stats.
Problem is most team’s fans only see what they want. Most Braves fans see value, others, their prospects are so high.
Look at the White Sox post, it clearly states looking for a 4th/5th pitcher and yet Julio doesn’t fit that role? Really?

I like the players are the ones chirping about PEDs. We need that lest we get too many “People pay for HR, legalize roids” people going.

Porcello and Verlander’s now familiar anti-PED positions suggest not just how committed each is to improving the policy but also the extent to which JV’s opinions and leadership may have influenced his younger former teammate.
Evidence of leadership and a positive clubhouse culture is often subtle.

I like the stance Porcello and Verlander are articulating. Like on-field matters, the game is best served when players police themselves. In the steroid sense, players calling for harsher penalties qualifies as ‘policing’ the game. More players need to speak up. Agreed on the JV leadership comment above – good point.
