I gave Hill 10 starts before blowing out his elbow yet again with him throwing that curve so often now in order to be effective. Even if he can last 10 (he has 7 now) at 6m, doing as well as he did those 4 last year and this season’s 7? 6m is a bargain.

The thing about hill is that hill is throwing his curve correctly, he’s not “snapping” which is causing less stress on his elbow.

That’s weird, because when he signed, the beat writers out of Oakland said that Hill signed with them because he was guaranteed rotation spot no matter what, and other teams offered more money but could not give him that same guarantee. Does not match up with Boston saying they got outbid.

It is possible they were still outbid, I’m willing to bet more teams than just the A’s and Red Sox were negotiating with him.
