I don’t really know why the Cubs called him up in the first place. His stats with Iowa before he was called up weren’t great.
tim815
They signed him to give him a shot with the big club. It didn’t work. With relievers, you can’t tell.
I wouldn’t be surprised if, once he clears waivers (He will.), he’s optioned back to Iowa. Then, JP can decline, and save the Cubs some cash.

Your going to see more of these type moves. They’re trying to spread innings so to not burn out own pen arms. At the same time, they hope to get lucky and catch lightening in a bottle. Joe wants his 5 main pen guys to have fresh arms come October
Kayrall
That’s a huge relief (no pun intended) that he is no longer an option out of the pen.
Brian Pearson
No clue why we signed him, he was brutal and done a long time ago.

Tell me, Carnac, how Joe Nathan will do. Since past numbers are totally solid at predicting future success.
strike4
OMG, Carnac — classic.

The answer is “a person impersonating a mlb reliever”
The question: Who is Joel Peralta?
cubsfan24
Low risk, he was never going to be the answer to any bullpen question. Hes gone now, out of sight out of mind

Still better than Clayton Richard
bsteady powers
Not better than Richard. Watch, Richard will rebound. , but he is not the answer. It was almost hard to watch Peralta. Felt bad for him. He only got the nod because of playing for Maddon in the past. Would’ve rather seen Rivero or Black tho
