Please, please, please let it be De Aza.
alproof
De Aza really, really sucks, and Reynolds has been hitting the ball.

This IS the Mets though…the Queens (get it?) of bad choices.

Gee, it’s too bad that neither Alejandro nor Matt choked and shoved his significant other, or he’d be assured a job.
I am a very loyal fan who rarely questions my team’s decisions, but this is different, this is sickening. I was (and am) so against this signing that I sent a message to the Mets, called them, and signed a petition. I even considered not watching games for however long Reyes is a Met, but I ultimately decided against that course of action, as I like the other players and of course care about the team as a whole. I just will be leaving the room when Reyes is batting.

It doesn’t bother me if you leave the room when Reyes is batting. That’s what America is all about! Happy 4th!
One who admits when they are wrong and takes the steps to correct it, is one that I want to give support to. There are so many who tear through this world looting and taking with brute force. If he continues to be a fool then I’m sure the Mets are capable to deal with it.

The first sentence of your comment is ridiculous.

I understand this completely and am not a supporter of his actions at all. I do however hope he truly does feel remorse and can turn his personal life in a new direction and if he starts playing well
again, he should be very thankful that the Mets, who I am sure he has a good relationship with, gave him another chance.

No they wouldn’t, b/c they CANT play!

DeAza has been awful and looks miserable. However, it wasn’t long ago he was useful player with some value. I’d reluctantly send Reynolds down and look to include DeAza as a throw-in on a deadline deal.

Yes, De Aza may be “cut” (waived/DFA’d). But Reynolds will not be “cut” … he will be optioned to AAA.
“Flores may have saved his roster spot …”. Really? You honestly thought the Mets might have removed Flores from the roster?!?!?!
I am not defending what Reyes did. If there was a video, he’d likely never play in the majors again. But “Reyes drew no shortage of criticism”??? Where? From whom? Bloggers? Sports talk show callers? Yes, there have been some writers who have said that Reyes should not have been signed by any team. But there were no negative back pages of NY newspapers. There have been no protests at Brooklyn or Binghamton. There have been no protests at Citi Field. So I would say there HAS BEEN a shortage of criticism. Maybe that’s what the Mets were “testing” as Reyes played a few games in the minors. Maybe that’s why the Mets floated the story that they might sign him … well before they did. They might have feared bad press. But they received very little.
I expect more accuracy from posts on MLB Trade Rumors.

Honestly, I am surprised De Aza is doing so terribly. Initially I thought it was a good pick up.

If you can’t demote De Aza, just DFA and release him his salary was cheap He is just absolute horse crap
metseventually 2
Aaaaaand they demote Reynolds and keep De Aza. You’re only as good as your weakest player….
