No David Freese? Not sure if the Pirates deal him with Kang’s situation still uncertain but I do think he would be a valuable trade chip.
longjohnsilver
That was my first thought as well.
AngelFan69
For the right prospects…. The Angels will move Escobar on or before the deadline…
angelsinthetroutfield
Yeah, I’ve got to assume they deal him if someone gives up something good. I really don’t see his value ever surpassing where it is currently. Also doubt he sustains his high level of play (at least offensively) throughout next season so now seems like an opportune time.
socalblake
No Justin Turner? He’s no Adrian Beltre, but he’s no slouch either.
sidewinder11
Why would LA trade him? They’re in the middle of a pennant race and he’s probably their best hitter right now.
dodgers4life357
That’s a stupid question to ask
TJECK109
No David Freese?
batman
I would be shocked if Freese was traded with the Pirates well within striking distance and Kangs legal issues still unresolved.
joew
I agree, if anything Kangs name to be floated in trade.
Or float both see if anyone bites and if they do move j-hay back to third and use Frasier, Hanson or Moroff at 2nd
I also think they should put Jaso’s name out there too now that he has some value as a first basemen.
TJECK109
Within striking distance of what? If NH wants to make a run at 4 consecutive playoff seasons then he isn’t doing his job. Freese, Jaso, Joyce, Rodriguez, Melancon, Watson, Feliz should all have some value. Instead of just making the playoffs he should be focused on winning a WS. If there isn’t a bold move to help the rotation he should be picking up assets that could help him next year.
The way Frazier is playing he may be able to slide to 2B and use Harrison at 3rd should something happen with Kang and or Freese is dealt.
KermitJagger
Harrison has been bad at 3rd over the past few years….almost Pedro level bad.
iamhector24
Ouch. Just ouch. Lol
zippytms
You may have Adam Rosales. You may not have Yangervis Solarte.

I’d guess that Garcia would be moved from the Braves before Beckham. Unless I missed where they see him as the future?
GreenCustom24
Adonis is the placeholder as long as he keeps hitting. Dustin Peterson or Rio Ruiz are the future. I’d imagine once one of them is ready Adonis gets traded to a team in need of a DH.
southi
Dustin Peterson (who is doing quite well in AA) is NOT a thirdbaseman. However his older brother DJ Peterson (in the Mariners organization) is a 1b/3b prospect.. I’m not convinced that Ruiz will ever be a quality major league thirdbaseman either.
I will agree with what you implied in your post though: That Adonis Garcia isn’t going to really block anyone. He can hit fair enough for a fill in, but isn’t much with a glove either.
yankees500
Headley is just a placeholder till the yanks sign machado.
glee8619
It’s a given that the Yankees will sign Machado? Haha.. The days are gone where the Yankees can pick and choose their FAs. Competitive balance has made them just a little less sexy.
mitt24
No chance. Manny resigns with the O’s or signs with the Marlins or Angels
MatthewBaltimore23
Nope. The O’s are going to gim him 300 million
nyjets21
Julio Urias for Evan Longoria who says no?
therealryan
If you’re asking straight up, the Rays do. Easily in fact.
wag2
No team would trade a proven star and the face of their franchise to take a chance on a young top pitching prospect, that would be a middle finger to Longoria and Rays fans
MatthewBaltimore23
Rays need hitting
therealryan
I still think the Indians making a big offer to the Rays for Longoria and Cedeno makes too much sense. It would make the Tribe AL WS favorites this year and fills needs moving forward. Both players also have multiple years of control and fit in the Indians window of contention for the next several seasons and are relatively inexpensive. It would take a big package, but the Indians have a very deep farm and could swing it while still hanging onto multiple top 100 prospects. An IF and 2-4 in the batting of order of Kipnis, Lindor and Longoria for the next 4.5 seasons matched up with their starting pitching would give them a legitimate chance at winning a WS sometime in the next handful of seasons.
madmanTX
No Joey Gallo?
steelerbravenation
Wouldn’t mind the Braves making a push for Headley in the offseason though. I don’t know what the Yanks would want but I would want them to eat a portion of the contract as well.
