Gray, Davis, and Alonso is going nowhere for the A’s. Gray trade value is to low to trade. Davis is still young and not close to FA. Alonso is needed with all the young infielders for defense and his trade value is not very high being a no power 1b.

I would like to see Gray in a Cubs or Red Sox Uniform

I say Chapman will go to the Dodgers.

As a Braves fan and as much as I would like to see Julio stay we need to leverage his trade value to enhance our need for bats. If we could facilitate a trade with the Astros, Rangers, or Red Sox this would enhance our future as we look towards 2017/2018. Personally Gallo/Profar scare me as I am not sure if they can sustain or in Gallo’s case even have success. I would much prefer a partnership with the Astros as they have infield and outfield bats. If we don’t trade Julio I would prefer that we check in on Shelby and if too much continue stocking for next year. I hope we don’t try to put a package together for Lucroy.

Julio had a bad year last year and his true talent lvl is still rather debatable. On top of that, isn’t he also dealing with an injury atm? I’m not sure what type of return you think he’s gonna fetch, but they should probably be happy with a return centered around Gallo, even with the ?s

What do y’all think of the Astros getting Kurt Suzuki to upgrade the Catcher position

There’s a further calculus in the Reddick negotiations–the QO. Think the A’s are negotiating with Reddick basically thinking, your market is going to be suppressed by a Qualifying Offer, so 2-3 years and 10 million AAV is your ceiling with the Qualifying Offer attached, deal with it.

the Giants need a reasonable upgrade in the outfield because Span just isnt cutting it, so i thought of it a little bit and came up with a few possibilities:
1) Trevor Brown for Christian Yelich (Marlins)-Trevor Brown would easily be an elite catcher if he had a full time job instead of being the backup, and Yelich is the perfect mix of contact and power we need.
2) Josh Reddick (Athletics)- idk i just want to see this guy in our uniform, plus he is a great all-around outfielder
3)Brandon Belt for George Springer (Astros)- Springer has tremendous upside (great power, above average defense, and at times can hold a decent .280+ BA) Belt to the Astros would provide a great lefty power bat, and he is an above average defender (with a little speed as well) If this was to happen, slide Posey to first base and give Brown the full time job behind the dish.
4.) Gregory Polanco (Pirates)- This guy has everything you could ask for in an outfielder; speed, defense, decent power, above average BA; what is there not to like about this guy.
5.) Jeff Smardzja for Jackie Bradley Jr. (Red Sox)- this season has shown that Smardzja can still be an elite starter, and with the Red Sox still trying to find a good mix for their rotation, i can see this move being fairly reasonable. Bradley has been having a nice season, and should continue to tear up his slash line the remainder of the season. slide Pagan over to left and Bradley would be a nice fit in center.
