The diamondbacks and dodgers don’t agree on the valuation of a player moving from LA > AZ? shocked. SHOCKED
dust44
Puig isn’t going anywhere.. U can’t get me to buy the fact the Dodgers who literally have been buying every Cuban player possible r going to give up on the most talented one they threw money at.
mkeving
They’ve also sent several Cuban players packing getting.

Agreed on Holiday and St. Looie. Rare these days to see a player hang around same team for such long periods, but the guy really does seem to fit. Hope he can work it out and sign something..
Lanidrac
Me too. I’d rather see them come to an agreement with Holliday than overpay on a long-term deal for an aging Moss.

Way to prove the doubters wrong Weaver! Solid outing today..Angel 4 life!

I wonder if there was discussion about a Puig for Miller trade. I’m sure though, if Puig taps into his talent and produces at the level he was at a few years ago, LA can forgive whatever attitude problem plagues him.

It could be tough for someone, like Holliday, to pick up a family and move year to year. Assuming Moz does not pick up the option on him a 2 year deal in the 24 million range with a consulting position after that seems reasonable to me?
Let the guy retire a Cardinal. #Cardinal way.
cxcx
Why is it tough on “a guy like Holliday?” What about the hundreds of players who *actually* move each year? (Holliday hasn’t moved in what, like 8 years?) And is the Cardinal Way paying players after they become useful? I thought it was more the opposite, like players giving their all and playing unnatural positions and taking less money, all for the good of the Cardinals.

You thought wrong. Let me introduce you to Ty Wiggington and Jonathon Broxton.
Lanidrac
How is Holliday no longer useful? Before getting nailed in the hand, he had posted a very solid .768 OPS and was on pace for well over 20 homers.

Just like Albert

Can’t see the Dodgers accepting anything but a blow-your-doors-off offer for Puig. The organization obviously has (finally) an “acceptance” of his personality, etc. etc. I’m not saying he’s a bad guy or speaking to any reports about him. He’s 26 and has a lot of talent (that he’s shown).
I don’t think he’ll come cheap.
Holliday: I kinda think he’d work something out with the Cardinals. Seems it’s a great fit for player and team and that doesn’t come often much lately.
I think that’s great. Really, it’s cool to see veterans long-tenured with one team play it out in the respective locale.
Brings things to Howard, but how can you argue with Philly wanting rid of him?
NL team, no place to play everyday, eroded skill sets.
He’ll find a job, though. He has too much power and there’s certainly an AL team or two that’d take a flier on him; extreme streaks and all.
AGAVE
AF has done some ballsy moves the past 2 years. And maybe PUIG’s demotion might be his best move yet. If YP grows from this, its a win for both team and YP. We shall see…
drum18
I’d dig that If Bob Barker were handling the deal.
drum18
I think he could still be a solid hitter.

Weaver should retire. He would make a good pitching coach. The Dodgers would be lucky to get a b level prospect for Puig. Don’t get me wrong, Pruig has all the tools to be a great player. But doesn’t have the dedication to be one.
