Interesting take that “nothing has been proven by the players that the organization hopes will handle catcher, center field, and shortstop.”
What exactly was proven by the guys the Cubs had before they arrived in the big leagues?
In the meantime, the Brewers have uncovered very serviceable parts in Villar, Perez and maybe even the very toolsy Broxton who are all in their mid 20’s. Now they might not be the “guys the organization hopes will emerge in CF and left side of the infield, but they do show signs they can be productive major leaguers. Between those 3, they’ve stolen 90 bases.
Peralta’s showed signs of righting the ship since being recalled. At worst, he becomes a bullpen arm that throws 96-98.

I don’t think it was a criticism at all, just pointing out the uncertainty.

Not to mention Rizzo, Russell, and Bryant were all thought of elite talents, Brewers probably have zero of those but Arcia is on fringes.
On Turner I’d be surprised if he got around 50-60 million I think his range is much higher, like 80+ million is what I’m expecting.

I’m a bit higher on Turner myself, as I kind of hinted in the linked post. But his injury history is a concern.

Yeah he said he likes what we’ve done. Our cant miss prospects besides maybe Hader are in the lower leagues and probably 2 years away. Erceg is going to be a monster, Ray is going to be great. No one has heard his name yet but Ronnie Gidion is the next Prince fielder. He can’t get credit for his drafting skills for a while since players have to move up but David Stearns drafted more cant miss seeming players this year then Melvin did in the last 10 years.
P.S. We will not win with an ok hitting coach as our manager in Craig. Cubs turned it around cause of talent and a manager who can make them play together

The worst things about ARZ are LaRussa and Stewart. Subtract them and unless the owners are intrusive and micromanagers, that job would be very enticing with the pieces mentioned. Goldy and Pollock’s deals are good enough to counteract Greinke’s contract. They need to some new blood in the FO to stock their farm up and stop selling off top picks ignoring future value.

The only problem with this take is that the owners do happen to be among the most “intrusive and micromanager-y” in the league.
