What money do the Indians owe to Chris Johnson? Maybe you mean Nick Swisher, I don’t know

Never mind, forgot about that trade last year that brought him to CLE

if the cubs offered Soler and Almora – which of the tribes young pitchers could they get? Any?
McGlynnandjuice
I doubt they would trade any of their young starters

Highly doubt the Indians will want to trade with the cubs, but you never know
seamaholic 2
Both those guys? Not sure Indians would want two outfielders, but leaving that aside, I think that gets you Bauer and some stuff.

Good chance that Erik Gonzalez will be the utility IF. Out of options, started playing multiple positions last year in Columbus and Cleveland. Top 10 prospect.

I would go after Matt Holiday

Try and bring Napoli back at a reasonable 2 year plus option deal. I wouldn’t be looking for impact or short term answers this off season for the outfield. Zimmer looks pretty good, and Fall League Team mate Greg Allen has been even better this past month. I wouldn’t trade away any of their pitching! If Carasco and Salazer would have been healthy the Cubs would be saying “there’s always next year” again.

Two things about Cleveland catch my interest. How will they replace Napoli, and how many of their players, including the bullpen, will be able to repeat their seasons. If Ramirez returns to his former norm, for instance, they may have more holes than expected. Though I suppose this is true for most teams…

My personal plan for the Indians:
Free Agency:
Austin Jackson – CF – Gives you an experienced RH for the outfield thay should come cheap.
Derek Holland (or similar) – SP/LR – Adds a veteran arm to the end of the rotation or out of the bullpen.
I would then be banging on the Padres’ door to find out what it would take to get Wil Myers. I’d be willing to deal Naquin, Clevinger, ++ (anything but Lindor, Ramirez, and Zimmer) to get it done. Would give you a RH power bat to grow with your other young position players. I’d then try to pry Zack Cozart from the Reds to be a RH infield option (or 3rd baseman if Ramirez regresses).
Lastly I may look to capitalize on Josh Tomlin’s playoff performance and if someone bites, use him to replinish the farm. Ditto for Yan Gomes (the Mets need a defensive catcher, right?)

I love the idea of bringing wil myers here but I can’t give up naquin to get him
We already traded away our top outfield prospect in Frazier and naquin is only going to get better
Chisenhall needs to go not naquin

So close to a title yet they’ll be stuck shopping for free agents in the scratch and dent section again. Hoping to revitalize another career or too after signing them on the cheap.
I’d like to see them dump that cheat Almonte and deal an arm for a corner bat that may be controllable for a few years.

I like going after someone like Matt Holliday if the price is right (same can be said about Napoli, I like Napoli but I wouldn’t pay him $10 million plus per year for multiple years). Argument can be made that if Yan and Brantley can come anywhere close to their 2014 seasons (last season they were both healthy all year) that would be a bigger boost to the lineup than bringing back Napoli. There’s a strong possibility that Rajai Davis gets brought back or a veteran outfielder type that can play CF. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Naquin get sent back down if a veteran outfielder is signed(platoon Chiz/Guyer in RF, Brantley in LF, & vetern OF/with Almonte backing up occassionally in CF). Curious to see what happens to minor league infielder Erik Gonzalez who is out of options. I know Francona is a fan of his and he is young and talented, would hate to lose him.
