Would love to see the Mainers pick him up. Use him in LF and possibly as a SS option.

So would I, but I don’t really think it will happen.

Desmond seems to be a perfect super utility player like Zorbrist for a contending team like the Dodgers. He could play third, and some outfield. He could also be a fit for the Yankees or Jays. Both need some help in the outfield and third.

Guys watched him in Wash many years…. SS skills diminished…the bat is awesome… don’t see him leaving Texas

I think that until MLB expands the active roster to 26 or 27 players guys like Desmond will be increasingly valuable. The Cubs are ding it already with Zobrist, Bryant and Baez, moving guys all around the field. Tony Phillips was one of my favorite players and he was a super-utility guy who was also a regular.

It’s a manager’s dream to have a guy you can put into the lineup every day but can move around the field (and get at least tolerable defense) as circumstances require. There isn’t a team that wouldn’t have an immediate use for him – Desmond will find a good home somewhere this offseason.

The braves need this guy if the bidding war doesn’t get crazy
