Why would Walker be used all around the infield if he returns? That doesn’t make any sense when he plays 2B.

Yea that makes no sense lol. Who is the starting second baseman then? Jose Reyes?

Mets will not go crazy trying to sign Walker and/or Cespedas. They will take the draft picks for those two. Set up platoons throughout the infield. And sign free agents to bolster the bullpen. If pitching is solidly recovered and doing well they will look to pick up someone as the season progresses.
Patience and let’s see will be the watch words for the start of the season.

Walker is an athlete and can play elsewhere and he was open to playing 3B last year. Reyes at 3B is fine as a backup option, but he may also be needed elsewhere. TJ Rivera did pretty well at 2B in Walker’s absence, so he adds some (cheap) depth on the bench in case Walker needs a breather or needs to fill in for Wright/Duda.
Wright, Duda, and Walker all have/had back issues, so having flexibility (no pun) is needed. I wish all were healthy and play 150+ games, but that’s not realistic. I’m guessing 120ish (plz!), 140ish, and 150ish. Wright, then Duda/Walker for the last two.

Starters we good.
Mets had 1 job this off season. Resign Cespedes.
Walker is a bonus.
Replacing DArud would be nice and bullpen help is always welcome
