White Sox fans think they can get whoever they want and more in trades these days lol
It’s like the Yankees are in talks about quintana… “They need to include mateo, severino, judge, sheffield, and their first born sons to even start the conversation”
Stop embarrassing yourselves.

It’s the smart way to go…you don’t just give away your top flight talent without getting as much as possible in return…it’s not like he’s going to be a free agent any time soon and he could walk away with nothing to show for it…they’re being patient and waiting for someone to hit all the requirements they have in mind and then they’ll pull the trigger

But there’s an extent to it lol. That’s my point. Unrealistic expectations

I see what you’re saying and with a lot of players you’re right, if you have unrealistic expectations nothing will get done…however with Quintana or any other player with a reasonable contract with some length in terms of years left on his deal, there is no real good reason to lower your asking price too much because it’s not going to hurt to keep them on the roster

The Yanks should do nothing this year and see if the young guys develop.

It’s called market value, give it up or not. If teams say no more power too them! If Wsox don’t need to trade him then they need to be overwhelmed since he’s number 1 starter available better than archers etc

Mostly true toby, and I think most of agree that “they don’t need to trade him right now” (much like the Twins and Dozier)
Just one comment about your post…..
“Market Value” (or in other words……..”What something is worth”) …………is simply equivalent to
“The amount that someone will pay for something”.
mcdusty31
Yeah realistically the White Sox can ask for more than market value right now because it doesn’t hinder them to hold on to Quintana

Being hopeful for best possible young talent in these trades is all us Sox fans have right now. Contending has been non existent for some time and the Eaton and Sale trade has stoked plenty of enthusiasm which leaves us wanting more during this rebuild so maybe this team can be something in the near future.
