wow, guys numbers have not been bad at all

Honeslty, Inglett is a great guy. The Blue Jays/Rangers will both regret it.

i just threw up in my mouth a little bit… nothing against inglett, but i live in wisconsin and now there’s another craig counsell that i’ll have to watch all summer.
coolstorybro222
yeah but at least he can hit better and play the outfield and the infield.
Sage
Don’t complain about having Craig Counsell. There are teams out there that would have killed to have him.
As for Inglett, yeah, fine, but my only question is… why? Why did we give up Chris Smith, who was solid for us, to get another bench bat, which we have plenty of?

Outfield depth. Besides Gerut who else is out there? Cain is the only prospect close to being ready to move up, and he is coming back from an injury. I am kinda bummed about Chris Smith though. I hope that we can re-sign him to a minor league contract.

Did we actually give up Smith though? was he claimed off waivers?
Sage
I’m not sure if he was claimed yet. I haven’t heard anything, so I’m hoping he hasn’t been claimed. I’ll be happy if he clears waivers. He could definitely be a solid part of our bullpen.
crewfan85, we now have Jim Edmonds hanging around for outfield depth. Now we have way too many outfielders: Braun, Hart, Gomez, Gerut, Hopper, Inglett, Edmonds.

Smith hasn’t been claimed off of waivers so far. And Inglett’s role will pretty much be backup OF plus he can also play 2B. Our BP & related farmhand reinforcements are to DM’s liking, so he added OF depth. A quiet but good waiver claim.
