Interesting. He has that Red Sox fierceness.

As a Yankees fan, I love this move!

lol is there ever anytime you aren’t just a total douchebag when the Redsox are even mentioned?
R_y_a_n
I’ll be fierce if they give me the chance to get $500,000…
“Fierceness” is not a quality that should earn you a contract. Ability should.

wierd. the sox cut a guy that was doing very well to bring in two more guys along with embree, who arent as good. somebody let me know when these move start making sense please?

Well sometimes you have to look beyond results in ST. I’m sure the Red Sox are playing attention to how the guy is throwing, how his secondary pitches are moving, is he getting A and AA players out rather than ML guys, are they getting good swings on his pitches? etc.

Yeah, a lot of these minor league signings make no sense to me. I doubt he’ll make the team at this point and he isn’t any better than their other candidates.

Theo likes depth, lots of depth.

Wow, a moment like this almost makes Omar Minaya look like a genius. I’ve watched this guy pitch many innings, and give up a whole lot of runs. Bad call, even if he stays in the minors all year, it will somehow be detrimental to the Sox

Just a fall back guy I suppose.

As a Met fan who has suffered greatly these past three years I can guarantee all Sox fans that Scott Schoeneweis officially sucks. big. time. Reconsider this now, ’cause he’s a late-inning, back-breaking, lead-punting three-run homer coming soon to a theater near you.

Scott S. looks like a favor the Sox are doing for his uncle, Jeremy Kapstein. Nothing wrong with a little compassion. Doubt he’ll pitch above AAA for a while.
BoSoxSam
*yawn* Another depth move. I hope he never hits the majors, but I don’t think he will, at least not for a while. Epstein likes having lots of available bullpen arms, and is clearly trying to stock up on some veterans to help fill those roles.

If it’s a favor and if he stays in the minors, that’s one thing. But the Red Sox would be nuts to put him in a major league game, much less in the late innings. He can’t get it done.

@darkhorses2010 finally someone with some actual insight instead of just a snarky comment.
It makes some sense now.
