It is too bad. I have a soft sport for players that have to overcome injuries, long tenure in the minors, labels affixed to them early on. Turnbow was fun to watch-that blazing fastball with no idea where it was going. Fun times.
I hope his shoulder is in good enough shape to live a normal life. Good luck to you, Derek.

It is too bad…too bad that he used banned substances and got caught while trying out for the 2004 USA Olympic Baseball team. Maybe he got what was coming to him for trying to get an edge early in his career. In fact he was the first MLB player to test positive for a banned steroid.

Too many forget that he was the first MLB player to test positive for steroids while trying out for the USA Olympic team in 2004. Maybe if he didn’t take steroids he wouldn’t have broken down so young.
