Wow, it’s like clockwork. You guys predicted it.
I wish Toronto would just leave him alone, their pitching is pretty good right now.

I suspect mlbtr has a toronto template. “X has been designated for assignment. Toronto is said to be interested”

Why trade for him, can’t they just claim him

Three words for the Blue Jays… don’t do it.

I’d swear J.P. was still at helm, he always loved picking up other teams garbage, but I guess AA learned a lot from him.

The team is official rebuilding, why not look at some more reclaimation projects and see what serviceable players you can get out of it? Anyway, I’d pass on Bergmann, even with his ties to Dana Brown.

More often than not, waiver wire guys are on waivers because of a roster crunch, not because they’re garbage. Toronto has made some decent waiver moves since AA took over (Valdez, McCoy, Bowman). You’ve gotta remember, not every guy that gets designated for assignment is Mike Jacobs or Corky Miller.

True, but in this case, Jason Bergmann wasn’t let go because of roster issues. He was let go because he isn’t a good pitcher.

Eh, replacement level pitcher in a rut. He still has a chance to be serviceable, it’s crazy what kind of impact a simple change of scenery can do for a guy.
Or, maybe he’ll be the next Adam Johnson.

Maybe the Pirates will pick him up. D. McCutchen has sucked as of late, so has Morton, as much as I’d hate to say it. In pretty much every game they’ve lost, they have been blown out.
