Two negative signs in front of his career UZR? Is he really THAT bad?
Billy
He should be a DH for an AL team
bigpat
I don’t care what people say, this guy is a valuable player. You can pencil him in as a middle of the order beast every single year, and he’d be an ideal DH, but I think you can live with his defense at first base.

Imagine a Gonzalez-Dunn-Uggla 3-4-5 punch!!!!!!(Drasticly improving offense and extentions for the three and a three year deal fo Corriea) then add morgan Line-up:
1. Nyger Morgan CF
2. Chase Headley 3B
3. Adrian Gonzalez 1B
4. Adam Dunn LF
5. Dan Uggla 2B
6. Will Venable RF
7. Nick Hundley or Yorvit Torrealba C
8. Everth Cabrera SS

“Kilgore points out that Dunn’s defense has improved this season, as evidenced by his -5.7 UZR/150.”
And someone should point out to Kilgore you dont use UZR/150 after 30 games to judge a player’s defense. If you cant use stats correctly then dont use them at all, you give others a bad name.
Mark S
Nor should you really use it AT ALL to judge 1B defense
Zack23
That too

I would absolutely love to see the Mariners sign him and put him at DH for 2-3 years.

At 1B his defensive deficiencies are pretty well minimized. The guy is an offensive weapon, and I don’t think he necessarily has to go to the AL to be effective. Sure, that would be the ideal situation, but I think pretending he doesn’t have use to certain NL clubs is silly.
Zack23
I dont think anyone said Dunn isnt a valuable player if he’s out of the OF. But also just because he hits 40 HRs doesnt make him a 20m player either
invader3k
Oh definitely…but I don’t think something like a 2 year/$25 million or 3 year/$40 million total deal (as has been suggested in the past) would be unfair for either side.
Zack23
As long as he stays out of the OF and isnt a complete joke at 1B then yes.
Trious
Dunn will end up staying. He has nowhere else to go and the Nats need his power/OBP
His D is bad….His average blows….and his power is off/on
