fielder a giant?….
Triteon
Both Fielder and Sandoval on the field at AT&T? The field would sag at the baselines!
redsandyanksfan
not to mention with bengie molina still running the bases if you call it running 😉
hawkny11
Yeah, it would reduce opponents’ bunt attempts by 50%
aisored
Yeah he may be a fit for what they need, but I think there is too much bad blood between him and the Giants.

Money solves all problems…
gigantes2425
and having fielder would solve a lot of problems.
Cameron Nelson
I hate to be the stereotypical Yankees fan and suggest throwing money at things, but a Teixeira/Fielder 1B/DH split? Yikes.
Pasta Diving
Heh no way.
1) Bad blood between the 2 front offices
2) Would require Montero+ type B/C+ prospect
3) Yanks need the DH spot free for 2011+ when veterans age.
Someone more realistic is Adam Dunn if Nats come back to earth. Z.McAllister and a low ball prospect could get it done. L.Berkman is another guy I would love as Yankee.
Yankees420
Dunn would be nice because of his expiring contract, I really feel that Posada is going to see more time at DH next season than at C. For that reason I don’t see the Yankees pursuing anyone that’s under contract after this season to fill the DH void.
Cameron Nelson
I was talking about waiting for Fielder to run out his contract. You could do the same with A-Gone or any of the big sluggers. Probably should’ve specified.

And when his contract is up, the Yanks will have both Jeter AND A-Rod closing in on DH duties. With the kind of contract it’ll take to get Fielder, the Yankees are the last team that should even consider signing him or any other first baseman/DH anytime soon.
Ian_Smell
I could see the Yankees being potentially interested in Ryan Doumit. He really isn’t doing much behind the plate and maybe moving him out of the catching position would decrease his injury chances, and he could hit better in an actually good lineup.
Yankees420
I think the Yankees would be looking for someone that is a proven slugger or OBP type guy, not looking to see if they can turn things around for a struggling catcher. Plus I think they want someone that can play OF if necessary.
Yankees420
Anyone think that Toronto would trade one of Downs/Frasor to the Yankees without the Yanks having to overpay? It is just a RP.
