Go Theo Go! Get him! Now!
Lewis >>>>>>>>>>>>> Schoeneweis
Hermie13
Scott Lewis made 1 start last year before missing the rest of the year with injury.
He is currently on the DL again. He’s had arm issues every year he’s been with the Tribe, plus had arm issues back at Ohio State.
He may get picked up….but keep the training staff ready.

Maybe he just had a string of bad luck and a change of scenery will do him good. Either way I am sure many teams will jump at him for the potential he still may carry.

Bad luck? Maybe….but when you’re hurt in college (multiple times), hurt in the minors, hurt in the majors, then hurt again in the minors…..I’d say that’s more than just bad luck.
Some team will pick him up. But “jump at him” is a bit extreme. He’s no spring chicken and does’nt have much upside. He’s a #5 pitcher on his best day.

I was not familiar and didn’t read up on his background at all and I figured since he was once a decent prospect, teams might be trying to get their hands in on him to see if he can stay healthy. My apologies.

Ability is not the issue with Scott Lewis. He pitched well when he was able to pitch. He had Tommy John while still in college and has had trouble with his elbow after the repair-every year. When he went down last year, Dr. Andrews told him there was nothing he could do and that he would have to learn to pitch with pain. Not much help when you consider that’s what he had been trying to do for years.
He just couldn’t find a way to do that and stay on the mound. It’s too bad, because he did pitch well on the rare occasions he could. If he wants another chance with another team, I hope he gets one.

how about the cubs and their bullpen struggles? he could help them out

He is injured again and the Indians had no reason to release him if they believed he could rebound from the new injury. He is probably done for good for good, gone the way of Adam Miller.

I’d wouldn’t mind if the padres picked up for depth. Also, am I the only one here who thinks the mets should at least give him a look.
