Was Carpenter designated for assignment from the Blue Jays? I know they did not want him anymore. Wikipedia said he was removed from the 40 man roster?

I think Carpenter was a non-tender player.

Any chance you can add Craig Breslow to this list, Ben? He’s had a pretty respectable 2.84 ERA and a sparkiling 1.080 WHIP in 66.2 innings for the A’s, since being claimed by Minnesota one year ago. He deserves some props, IMHO! 🙂

NIce list of players that the Tribe designated!!! I guess that goes along with their scouting of talent before the draft.
Cory Laudenslager
Jeff Francoeur too

Frenchy wasn’t DFA’d, he was just straight up traded.

Nice list of former players that the Tribe has given up on. The scout their current talent like they do talent prior to the Draft – poorly.

Guthrie’s actually pretty bad peripherally.
Agree on Ludwick and Phillips though, but then, Ludwick had been on about 2-3 teams before the Indians DFAd him (A’s and Rangers, off the top of my head)

It would be interesting to see who has been designated multiple times. I feel lik Livan gets designated for assignment at least twice a year.

Nice compilation…I’d say Gary Matthews Jr. will be DFA’d this week if I had to guess.

Shouldn’t Carlos Pena have made this list or did I miss him?

Wasn’t Chad Gaudin DFAd by the Cubs, which is when the Padres picked him up.
Zach
Wasn’t Cody Ross DFA by the Dodgers? I believe he went to the Reds for a stint after the Dodgers needed his roster spot. He’s been pretty solid since he’s been with the Fish.

I’m pretty sure Casey McGehee was DFA’d by the Cubs 2 years ago, he’s not a star but 5th in RoY balloting deserves some credit.
