Lee makes $9M (not $8M) this year. His 2010 option increased by $1M when he won the Cy Young award in 2008 (courtesy of Cots).

We keep hearing what a consummate professional Lowell is. Last week the prospect of him asking for his release came up, yet no mention was made about him waiving the remainder of his contract for such a release. What a guy—-wants a release, yet still wants to “hold up” the Sox for the $9 mil they still owe him. Yeah, some good guy, consummate pro. Waive the remainder of your contract, Mike, and see how fast the Sox dump your ass. Yeah, I didn’t think so. What a phony.

He has no reason to waive the remainder of his contract and we have no right to ask him to do so. Would you dump $9 million down the drain if you were in his position? I don’t think so.

Grabow is the one that the Cubs should trade. Move him and the bullpen gets better. Gorzelanny would definitely do that job better or at least not worse!!

Sounds good, an addition by subtraction. Too bad every other GM knows how bad Grabow is pitching.
