FINALLY! good riddance.
Athletics For Life
Oh happy day!
$1529282
Now he and his brother can argue over who was the more disappointing player at family gatherings. Granted, Corey had a couple of decent seasons, but he was also the #3 pick in the draft, while Eric went in the 8th, and therefore didn’t have as many expectations.
All in all, should be make for an interesting debate!

As an A’s fan I’m going to have to go with Corey (it has nothing to do with my name)

Corey was considered a top, top prospect until he bombed at the major league level. He wins (loses?) that argument hands down.
Prince Angore
Coreys problem in Chicago was that he wanted to be a three hitter, droppin bombs and having fun…instead of being the lead off hitter he was built as.The sooner both brothers are completely out of the league the better for us fans

He had a consistently lousy walk rate, inconsistent batting averages, and inconsistent stolen base success rates. What exactly made him built as a leadoff hitter other than being a fast centerfielder who looked the part? The only offensive tool that ever actually translated in professional ball at the plate was solid home run power.
If you want to blame him, his problem was never translating his tools into skills. If you want to blame someone else, the Cubs never gave him the proper time and instruction to do that.
Failing to live up to his destiny as a leadoff hitter was not the problem.

How long before Baltimore signs him?

Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin for Eric Patterson, Matt Murton, Sean Gallagher and Josh Donaldson. The A’s really got sh*t for their ace.
Eric Patterson- DOA: 104 Games with the A’s 5 homers, 28 RBIs, .221 average
Matt Murton- In Japan: 9 games 0 HR, 5 RBIs, .100
Sean Gallagher- Padres: 17 games 3-5 , 64 K’s, 7.02 ERA
Josh Donaldson: MLB/ Minors: 10 games 1 HR, 3 RBIs, .154

i remember a lot of people saying the cubs gave up too much…..looks like they didn’t give up anything.

Donaldson looks to be the prize of that trade. He’s still young (24) and is a very solid hitting Catcher currently in AAA – 827 OPS
Gallagher = Scott Hairston+ = Kevin Kouzmanoff (Don’t Ask)

Twitter really adds insult to being DFA’d.
