i’m sure chipper will make that settlement easy on the braves. he’s hinted as much, i think. already sad, though…

I thought when a player retired, he just forfeited the rest of his contract.
And I didn’t read the Dodd article, but isnt suggesting that the Royals “maximize Dejesus’ value” by trading him or collecting draft picks essentially what has to happen anyway?

yea im with josh. the braves agreed to pay chipper $28 mill to play ball in ’11 and ’12. whats the issue? if he doesnt play ball, he isnt living up to his end of the agreement. why do the braves owe him anything?

I have been waiting for the 100th anniversary of Fenway and the Allstar game there for years for it to be given to KC. This is the first time I can truly say I’m disappointed in you Selig. Way to completely ignore history. The only reason KC got it was because of a deal where Selig promised it to them if they renovated the stadium, yet they couldn’t get it in 2014? You’re a joke Selig.

This is really the first time Selig has disappointed you?

Honestly yeah. There was nothing he could do about the steroid problem in baseball imo. The players association was too powerful for him to impose testing. It took Congress to force them to create drug testing.

Because the baseball world revolves around Boston? That’s weak.

Bud Selig changed the cycle so the NL had it 2 straight years so New York could hold it when they closed their stadium. Plus not many stadiums around the world make it to their 100 year anniversary.

awwww boo hoo, poor boston fan is upset. You’ve got to be kidding!!! History? wow, 100 years of an ugly stadium…how awesome. Well wait, its okay because it’s been so long since there was an ASG in Boston. OH WAIT, NO IT HASN’T…1999. Last time in KC? 1973. Hmm…think it’s pretty fair that it’s their turn. You are the joke.

Hey watch out, your bias is showing.

boston will have all kinds of media coverage all year long if its fenway’s 100 yr anniversary regardless of the all-star game. kansas city, on the other hand is a city that isnt doing so well right now, not to mention their team’s been terrible and most of the baseball thinks they’re a joke. it’s better for baseball to give kc something to cheer about than it is to give boston one more thing to showcase in their never-ending media circus.
