What, they can’t give up and give in now; they just drafted Ozney!

Yankee’s should try to go for Thornton what would it take to get him?
Kevin Chambers
A lot of stuff, a couple of top prospects.

With Williams as the GM, just offer them a 38 year old who had a great year in 02 and you should have no trouble squiring Thornton.
And the player will get a 3 year extension to boot.

A “fairly weak” A.L. Central? I think Williams would agree that the Twins are a standout team and a World Series contender, and that their .593 winning percentage is evidence. The Twins are never going to get any respect from the rest of country until they win about six titles because… well, just because, I guess.

The Twins are great, but I think Williams would also agree that the AL Central (.464 overall winning percentage, including .430 vs. the other two AL divisions) is a less daunting place to play than a few other divisions.
Joey Doughnuts
Twins are certainly the best team in the AL Central, but I would take the Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays over the Twins.

I wouldnt mind seeing the Reds try to acquire Putz and Thornton and to a lesser degree Pierre for the bench.
