“…makes a Francoeur deal less seem likely.” THANK YOU JESUS
davidwright1234
If your a Met fan ( I’m not sure if you are) why don’t you want Frenchy out???
Koby2
No I’m a Royals fan. I’m sure Mets fans want him out though and I sympathize.
TheReturnOfMrBlanks
Ya this is misleading… why wouldn’t the Padres be a good fit? He is a huge upgrade at what they have now in center an is a good lead off hitter which they don’t have…How is that not a fit? Need some explanation on that one .. I heard they are interested in Christian Guzman now.. I hope that isn’t our big splash.
I was also hoping we would have made our trade for a bat before this Dodger series…seems pretty important to me..why wait?
sdsuphilip
He isn’t much of a upgrade if one at all in center, Tony Gwynn jr has truly become a elite defender while his hitting skills are lacking he more than makes up for that with his defense and speed on the base passes. Podsenik though imo would be an upgrade in left where could platoon him and Scotty, so Scott would only hit lefties which he does well
TheReturnOfMrBlanks
What are you talking about? Denorfia pretty much took the job out there by playing his balls off. Do you see all of the top MLB teams having a center fielder that hits .220? Pods is hitting over .300 which the Pads don’t have anyone currently batting, they have not had a actual lead off hitter all year, Gwynns a number 8 hitter and although his defense is very good.. Scotty Pods plays a heck of center field…do you ever watch Royals games?
Soxman17
Scott Podsednik is as good a CF as Adam Dunn. Please observe my screen name. Loved the guy and what he did for us, but he is a defensive butcher.
Nicolas_C
Soxman17 obviously made a huge exaggeration, but Pods really is pretty bad in center. You may assume he’s a competent defender because of his speed, but he gets terrible reads out there and just flat out isn’t good at the position. If you play him in left he’ll be pretty average. I’m a White Sox fan too if you need validation.
Koby2
Despite his relative speed, Podsednik is not so good defensively in center. Still, I imagine he’d play well in LF. Perhaps the asking price is too much at this time.
TheReturnOfMrBlanks
I’m a big Scotty Pods homer so I’m very biased here, back in the day when he stole over 70 bags I became a huge fan and have been ever since…I would just love to see him on the Padres.. hell Denorfia plays a decent center maybe Pods could play in left and Gwynn comes in later in the game like he has been lately as a defensive sub
RBomb2844
I think Scotty would do pretty well in San Diego. However, I do think that they need somebody with a stronger bat. There is not much offense on that club and I know the pitching has been great, but down the stretch it could break down.
EdinsonPickle
Yeah I doubt they’ll be making a big splash, and Pods would fit well in Petco. He has speed to take an extra base with balls hit to the gaps. Not to mention his ability to steal bases. He’s a good fit for the Padres since they more than likely won’t be making a push for a power hitter like Corey Hart, whose power would probably suffer at Petco anyway.

Rockies need bullpen help Street was just hospitalized
SalvadorM

BAUTISA IS A MONSTER!
Jon Stark
whoop whoop. What a game. Did you see the throw?
Encarnacion's Parrot
I dunno what was more impressive, The Terrorist’s double-play, or Yunibomber’s behind-the-back flip for the force out.
switchhitingjesus
That HGH he is on must be working.
aap212
Mommy look! I’m trolling! I’m trolling!
switchhitingjesus
I just hope he is clean. He is a good story this year.
aap212
I’d be more concerned that he’s a fluke. But making knee-jerk accusations is for the dim. Besides, why would a healthy 29-year old be helped by HGH?

Jocketty never says a word until the ink actually drys on a deal. Royals trade Podsednik and Soria to the Reds for Alonso and Maloney… Soria seems like someone on the Reds’ radar
RedbirdRuffian
Soria is exactly what the Reds need, but with Butler at first I don’t see a fit for Alonso, unless one of them goes to DH. Not sure if Maloney is ready for a big league rotation, Lecure may be a better fit….
