A trade of Francour for Zumaya could work !

They can go ahead and have Bautista. He’s going to fall flat on his face eventually. He has ZERO track record that suggests it will last over the rest of the season.

While you could be right, you could also easily be wrong. How do you think you develop a track record? It has to start somewhere. Bautista has never really had the opportunity to play everyday. I think all the people here that are peering into their magic 8-ball’s and thinking they have all the anwers are actually smoking 8-balls.

If Bautista reverts back to his old self, he is still a useful player. He was used as a bench player with a bit of pop, quite successfully, in the past. Depending on how your roster is constructed, he could be just what you need.
He has also talked of getting a great deal of help from Toronto’s hitting coach, so it’s quite possible things just clicked for him. Herbert’s right; he never has played everyday before this year. I would also add he was the player chosen to help Yunel Escobar make his entry on the Toronto team go smoothly. So he’s also considered a “character” guy by Toronto.

I’d hate to see the Tigers give up any key prospects at this point. What’s Jose Guillen or Francouer going to do for us this year? Nothing. There’s too much need right now at key spots. If you get someone to replace Mags you still have needs to be filled pretty much everywhere else: SP, RP, 3B, SS, and catcher.
The smart move after last night seems to be standing pat and seeing how this plays out; that isn’t really how DD operates though, so I still wouldn’t be surprised to see a move made. Better not include Porcello or Turner though. The help gained for the rest of this season just wouldn’t be worth it.

Jeff Francoeur ?????????????????????????? Are you kidding me this guy is one of the most over hyped players, the Mets would love to move this guy without a doubt.
Ya the Tigers should make that move and while there at it the Indians have stiff also playing 3rd base named Jhonny Peralta they should just go get him also, Peralta also have a good season 3 years ago.

//Dave Dombrowski has said he won’t trade top prospects for rental players though//
2-month rental = still not Dan Haren

Jeff Francoeur to a contender = subtraction by addition.
