Another big trade in 1996 was Cecil Fielder going to the Yankees from Detroit. Cecil hit 13 bombs for the Yanks after the trade and had a couple of huge homeruns against Baltimore in the ALCS. The Tigers received Matt Drews and Ruben Sierra for their franchise player.

You missed what was probably the most significant trade of the deadline. On July 30, the Mariners acquired Jamie Moyer from the Red Sox. He was a mainstay in the rotation for 10 years and is among the franchise leader in almost every statistical category.
