Brandon Woodworth
…why? He wasn’t expensive, had good versatility, expanded rosters made him being there bearable…I don’t get it.
Ferrariman
their giving the younger kids a chance to play more often without having a veteran “breathing down their necks”next up, Randy Winnless
Brandon Woodworth
True. Forgot they weren’t in it anymore.
Shamboozle
Couldn’t have put it better myself if I tried.
Battling Redlegs
He should blame Johnny Cueto.
Chuck
The real question is, how will Chris Carpenter explain this to his son?
start_wearing_purple
I’m missing the joke…
Battling Redlegs
@Chuck lmao
start_wearing_purple
No seriously… what’s the joke.
shockey12
Is your name a reference to Gogol Bordello?
start_wearing_purple
Yeah, Start Wearing Purple is one of my favorite songs… and the video was damn cool.
shockey12
Nice
Just_MLB
Mr. Felipe Lopez, I have Omar Minaya on line 1
mikefichera
Don’t know why, he isn’t going to have a job in like 5 minutes.
Just_MLB
Now I hear there is a major split in the Mets Ownership over Omar Minaya. Jeff wants to bring in someone new. Daddy wants to stay with the most talented human pinata on earth. So yeah, Mr Lopez, Minaya still on line 1.
coolstorybro222
he and Castillo can become friends…from the bench.
Just_MLB
na bro…the purpose of getting felipe lopez is to release castillo and have a low cost bridge to either a developed tejada or havens at 2B.
Jason S
They’ll release Lopez for being late but they won’t release Aaron Miles for being a god awful baseball player????? WTF??
Scott
That’s interesting, since he projects as a Type B free agent. Were the Cards worried he’d accept arbitration?
Mickeyblue
No kidding, it’s not like they had to offer a high arb number based off his salary this season. Doesn’t reallly make sense but hey niether does any move the Cardinals have made this season so it’s not suprising
mrsjohnmiltonrocks
^This. They also rewarded their GM with a three year extension. Can’t wait to see the next move they make. I’m waiting for them to trade Rasmus. For twenty cents on the dollar. You know they want to, you just know it.
Ferrariman
even though they already said they weren’t going to trade rasmus? sometimes i wonder if people are just trying to be pessimistic trolls…..
J
Yeah because a player has never been traded after the team stated they weren’t going to do it.
pageian
.310 OBP? Is Dusty looking for a new leadoff hitter?
BlueCatuli
I’m surprised Nefi Perez hasn’t found himself on the Red’s roster at some point over the last two years.
start_wearing_purple
Doesn’t he have an 80 game suspension if he ever comes back?
cbcbcb
Maybe the “bargain” price actually reflected the possibility of such a poor season. Perhaps the free agent market is more efficient than we think
marichal27
lopez=hof. it will happen
Zach
next is brendan ryan, then skip, then feliz, then winn, then miles, then suppan, yadda yadda and i think u get the picture
tdw815
maybe he could be a utility infielder for the Mets
Mick_Stepp
Lopez has the work ethic of a house cat. Any team with impressionable young players should stay very far away from him.
brstreet9
Bingo. The real reason he was sent packing.
BCdave2
Exactly. The Nats released him for that very reason.
