2yrs/$7MM with a mutual option? Sound about right?
BravesRed
I would go with between $9-$10 million.
pageian
Yep, that should do it. $9-10 seems a bit much but I suppose it’s possible if they get skittish over losing him.
Dave_Gershman
Yeah, but nothing tells me that he will have a better year next year than he did this year. I think that 6-7 should be fine as you and I agreed upon.
PookieGonzales
I don’t know man a lot of japenese pitcher come here and get more and more hittable every year as people get used to their stuff. Maybe I’m just biased by watching oki fall apart.
mrsjohnmiltonrocks
The Mets should keep him, but keep it reasonable. Too bad he’s already 35. A year with an option would be the best kind of deal. If they have to go 2, okay. But no more.
Dave_Gershman
Maybe a vesting option? Great Success?
PookieGonzales
Ya i think a vesting option is the best idea…. maybe like 2 years with a option that vests
HarryDoyle
Can they offer arb right now? If they can, they should.

Why not 2/8-9million?
Slopeboy
Sounds reasonable. But get it done quickly. In a pretty dismal year, this guy gave the team a bit of stability when he was in the rotation, and helped out in the bullpen as well. In addition, he beat the Yankees twice. Mets fans will take any bit of solace where they can, and he is a bit of sunlight on a otherwise dank season.
