Nice! First Waiver Claim of the 22 team off-season so far!
5Th Starter
You know what this means? The Jays have an open roster spot! big moves are coming…
dizzle4
According to Shi Davidi, the move was just made so that they could take Dirk Hayhurst off the 60-day DL. I thought the same as you at first, but it looks like it’s nothing to get excited about!
Dave_Gershman
So you’re telling me that you aren’t excited abou the Garfoose’s return?
dizzle4
I’m a Hayhurst fan and all, but I could pretty confidently say that no, I’m not excited right now about a chance to potentially watch Dirk Hayhurst in seven months.
iains
I do wonder what the point of taking the Garfoose off the 60 day. Couldn’t he be left there until spring?
HerbertAnchovy
I’m a bit disappointed by this. Hoffpauir is young, and wasn’t given much of a chance to prove what he could do.
Tim Valencia
signaling headley is expendable and available?
Dave_Gershman
Maybe, but that has nothing to do with Jarrett Haufpauir. He is not exactly a starting 3B.
Tim Valencia
While showing promise in on eday also showing dissapointment the same night, Ludwick being brought back means alot of young OF wont get their chance to contribute. Cunningham Durango TG. Also we complain about not having money for Agon but we need to spend 8 on Ludwick?
Beersy
I can not beleive they are bringing Ludwick back. He did absolutely nothing for the Padres, in fact he hindered them. I wish Hoyer had admitted his mistake and just let Ludwick walk.
Tim Valencia
I might be reading too deep into this but i think its to give him the flexibility to trade Agon. If Agon is shipped out the only legit hitter we have is Ludwick for the middle of the order. Regardless of how terrible he was this year he would sitll be a middle of the order guy. That hurts to say cus i cant stand ludwick.
Jake Humphrey
Signaling that there was a cheap player that’s been productive in the minors that hasn’t gotten much of a shot in the Majors that they liked.
damnitsderek
A waiver wire transaction that involves the Blue Jays, how shocking.
HerbertAnchovy
Why? I understand your sarcasm, but all teams do this kind of thing.
iains
The surprise is it went the other direction.
