I honestly think (and hope this doesn’t sound biased) that Dunn will sign with the White Sox. They just were willing to offer 16 million (reportedly) a year to V-Mart, so signing Dunn to a 4 year/ 55 Million deal would make sense. It fills a ton of wholes for the White Sox, and unless he is honestly not willing to DH like he says (and I believe money talks), he fits really well on the south side and they are a good fit for him.
If the Sox are unable to sign him, however, I can see them signing Pena as a guy who plays good defense and lots of pop.

I think the MLB should ignore the Boras issue. Yes, he could be using the money for his personal gain, but he’s still helping out the poor families. Hopefully he was just being a good person, but that may be too idealogical.

Boras is employing the agents version of a baseball academy to enhance and increase his players pool.Teams set up academies to sign and get cheap prospects for their ML teams. Boras is ‘helping’ the poor, which makes his name and reputation more visable to the public and reminds them that ‘I do right by you, so you need to do right by me’. MLB is going to investigate, but will have a difficult time in proving that he is doing anything against the rules or wrong.

I don’t think MLB should ignore it. It is ethically questionable at best and likely against the rules. I’m guessing that Boras is likely doing more exploiting than helping. There are much better ways to help people than to put them in this situation.
Slopeboy
Agree. This should be getting more press than it’s getting now.My thought is that Boras is no fool and most likely will not do anything that could be considered blatantly illegal, but most likely pushes the envelope to the limit. This should be interesting to see how it plays out.

I’m telling you, this is going to sound crazy but I really think that Iwakuma will drastically bring his demands down…I think he’ll sign a Colby Lewis deal and I think he’s going to do it on Dec 3rd.

In looking at Adam Dunn’s past production and current age, I find it hard to believe that there aren’t a lot of teams that are going to bid on his services. I know he strikes out a lot and doesn’t hit for average, but he puts up the type of OBP and OPS numbers that stat-heads love, and he hits homers in volume which brings fans through the turnstiles.

People don’t like his defense. he is a big guy so maybe his health is in question. his numbers weren’t too impressive with RISP. first baseman are readily available this yr.

Dunn could probably pull down more salary if he’d sign as a DH in the AL, but for some reason he continues to see himself as a position player.

It’s not that crazy sounding :D. Unless he want sto play in Japan for one more year (which we know he doesn’t), he better bring it down. After realizing that no one is stupid enough to pay him the amount of money that he was originally looking for, he and his agent will stop taking crack and negotiate a realistic deal.

would love for Franky Francisco to accept Arb. He was useful this year when healthy after getting knocked from the closers role in the first week of the season. Above 10 k/9, solid 3 bb/9 for a reliever, and an ERA under 4 despite a well above career high .332 BABIP. Im surprised he would accept, there’s definitely a market for his type of arm, must figure that Type A would reallllly weigh down his pursuers.
