Lol.

Great success. I like this deal. I’m not sure why I just like it.

Awful lot of coinage to throw out to a utility infielder losing his range though, unless want him as a regular at 3B and he does not hit well enough to stick there, plus Tigers already gave that equally strange/early deal to Inge.
Pizza man’s money saved seems to be going fast this year on questionable contracts.

Their probably planning to play him at shortstop, which does not sound like a great idea with his regressing bat and limited range like you said. I’m really not agreeing with the idea of using old/ familar vets when there are much better options on the market.

There aren’t really much better options at SS on the free agent market.

Me too. As a tigs fan I think it’s a little pricey but I like it. I think Detroit will do good things for him.

Good move for both sides
rockfordone
Good move for one side. Waste of money. Who is going to give him 6M per year.

I’m not exactly doing cartwheels, but this isn’t terrible.

I would say that Peralta performed adequately for the Tigers rather than admirably. He is what he is…an insufficiently motivated, low OPS, range challenged SS. An acceptable member of the cast but not likely a star.

Not the end of the world, but not a solution to upgrading the lineup, either. Peralta + Inge + Avila is about the same as Laird + Inge + Everett overall. Ho Hum. Jhonny is the same player as Renteria

A bit of an overpay, maybe, but the shortstop market is thin. It’s not like there’s a ton of better options out there.
