Sandy, you signed the wrong Buchholtz
fivepoint0
How do you still manage to spell Buchholz wrong when it’s at the top of the page?
Slopeboy
Like I said he got the wrong Buchholtz, Ok Mr. Spelling Nazi?
Joe
lol still wrong
Slopeboy
Yeah, it was a poor attempt at humor, I’m quitting while I’m not too far behind.

Did not know that Ryne Duren passed away today and since he was not really that well known to baseball fans.. Might not have found out for some time. Thank you for letting us know Mark, he actually was a favorite of mine when was young, even though he played for the Yankees just because he threw OH SO HARD and really had the intimidation factor thrown in by peering in at the plate as he did with those thick lenses in his glasses… Like.. Don’t get comfy, cause i got no idea where am looking at and no control anyway..
Thank you once again for that.

Ahh Clemens, the gift that keeps on giving.

Jones makes alot of sense hopefully we can sign him by next week and focus on bullpen and backup infielders.

The Phils should step up here and steal another player out from underneath the Yanks. Jones would be a great platoon partner for Dominic Brown in RF…

You’re tellin me not one single team would give Andruw Jones a chance as a starter? I dont believe it Royals! After all, hes an ex-Brave
quintjs
Its why Jones could never sign a one day contract with Atlanta to retire as a Brave. As soon as he retired, DM would call with a three-year offer…
Durf
White Sox should get Bonderman…
Slopeboy
Yes, please; before the Yankees sign him to a multi year deal.

I wonder if, now without George, we are seeing the new generation of Yankee ownership. One which is super cautious about pulling any significant moves.

If only that were true. Hopefully Bonderman goes to Chi town just to stick to Leyland & Co.

And if they signed Lee it would be, “Same old Yankees, overpaying a 32 year old for 7 years! Let the young kids play!”

What could be going over in the NYY ownership circles is being held up as the posterchild at the after the season CBA meetings as the Prime example of what is wrong with the game and with no Georgie around anymore, neither brother willing to be used as a 29 other owner punching bag.
Easy way out is to let another team creep up and get close to them salary wise for a season, maybe even pass them and let them point fingers at them like “we ain’t the only ones with high salaries” then go back to normal (for them) and have 200m+ payroll 2012 onwards after the CBA agreement is finished.

Wrote about the Pettitte/Clemens speculation on my blog two weeks ago. Welcome to the party, Wallace.

I think the Yanks will wait to see what Pettittes doing before they make a move. If Andy comes back then the Yanks go with Nova at the 5th spot. This is their first choice at this point. If Andy retires they would pick up a pitcher like Bonderman for the 4th spot.
